LEAPS Research

We are currently recruiting clinical, allied, and community health professionals to partner with our active research projects.

The psychosocial factors behind medtech clinical uptake

To follow-up on our qualitative interviews that we showcased at the 2023 NZSSD General Meeting, we developed a 5-min pulse survey to further understand the relative importance of the different psychosocial factors during implementation of new medtech.

We are also interested in comparing these psychosocial factors across cases of successful and unsuccessful medtech uptake as interviews with healthcare staff, teams, and organisations.

We invite individuals who are working in healthcare organisations to take part in our anonymous 5-min survey:

Did you experienced a successful or unsuccessful medtech implementation?

The accessibility of diabetes medtech to community end-users

We want to partner with healthcare providers on research about how they understand their role in supporting community uptake of diabetes medtech, and other factors they believe are important for community accessibility.

We are also seeking healthcare providers who are interested in sharing our research pānui with Māori living with diabetes and their caregivers. We are planning focus group hui to understand how Māori manage their diabetes, access health care, and prefer their health data to be protected.

Embedding LEAPS into clinical practices and workplaces

We plan to start clinical and implementation trials specific to LEAPS in 2023-2024. Over this period, we will work with clinical partners to refine the clinical usability of LEAPS, and to develop an implementation programme with key organisational resources that support its uptake.
